Midwest Annual Conference

Global China Connection-Purdue is committed to preparing the international student community in the Midwest area for an excellent chance to communicate socially, academically, and professionally. Join us this spring for our first Midwest annual conference, as we bring together the distinguished speakers from various leading industries to share their stories of personal growth and knowledge of international business. The conference will be a one-day event, which consists of keynote addresses, panel discussions and networking meals in order to create a thorough discussion on the challenges and opportunities in the world today.
There will be 3 speakers participating in the keynote addresses. Each speaker will have approximately 35-45 minutes to talk about global changes in his/her industry, and share his/her successes and failures in order to achieve personal growth. Student audience will have 10-15 minutes to ask questions to the speaker. The objective for the keynote addresses is to bring students true inspirations through speakers’ personal stories, for it is hard to grasp those inspirations with the public information students obtain.
There will be 2 panel discussions in the afternoon that focuses on what students can do AFTER their current education. Each panel consists of 3-4 panel speakers and 1 moderator. Panel speakers will have 35-45 minutes to discuss their topic and students will have 10-15 minutes to ask questions. By brings academic scholars and business professionals from the U.S. and China, we want students to get a better idea about what lies ahead of them if they choose academic or employment career after their current education.
Thus, after the event, we hope students may leave with successful personal stories to be inspired, important changes in various leading industry, and a clearer picture of what to pursue after their current education.
